Teaching Children about Parts of Speech: Language Book 3 (English Edition) Edición interactiva para Kindle - "Teaching Children about Parts of Speech" offers easy to understand definitions, examples, and colorful illustrations to teach students about nouns (including common nouns and proper nouns), pronouns, noun markers, adjectives, possessive adjectives, verbs, adverbs, the 23 helping verbs, prepositions, interjections, and conjunctions. Student interaction is also encouraged as most lesson pages include one or more questions relating to parts of speech. (The answers are provided at the end of the book.) Besides being taught how to identify the different parts of speech in sentences, they will also learn how to recognize a verb phrase as well as the subject and predicate of a sentence.Several reproducible worksheets are also available to be used for individual practice, to assess student learning, or for a teacher to use for direct instruction purposes on the classroom screen. (Check the footnote of the page to see if it is reproducible. The multiple-choice practice test discussed below may also be reproduced for non-commercial, classroom use.)Most of the pages in this book take only a few minutes of instruction time. It is recommended that you introduce one new page to the students daily and that you spend at least one day a week briefly reviewing pages you have already studied. This will help students to retain the information and will also help to prepare them for the corresponding unit test designed specifically for this book. A practice test is included at the end of the book. The same practice test is also available online as a computer-based test. (Pricing and details on how to access the test are provided on page 24.) Students can take the practice test as many times as they like and might originally be allowed to use their books to guide them through it. The computer will notify them if an answer is correct or incorrect, and they can access their grades after completing a test. When the student feels confident or at the teacher’s discretion, there is also a computer-based unit test they can take to test their comprehension over the book’s content.Besides this book, Habakkuk Educational Materials offers three other language books (all of which are less than 60 pages) that include comprehensive tests (see the illustrations on page 3). The practice tests are included in the books, and computer-based tests and practice tests are also available. If you are paying the $5.00 monthly to use the computer-based tests for one of the language books, you can request access to the other language tests for no additional charge. These books could be introduced to students as early as the first grade and used throughout elementary, middle, and high school. Actual testing of the content could begin as early as the 2nd or 3rd grade.
